The Mandarin Institute of Theology is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 74th Annual Symposium on Interfaith Hermeneutics, to be held from 15–18 June 2026 at the MIT campus.
This year's theme, "Reading Across Boundaries: Textual Interpretation in a Pluralistic World," will explore how different theological traditions approach the interpretation of sacred and philosophical texts. Keynote speakers include Prof. Maria Santos (University of São Paulo), Prof. Takeshi Yamamoto (Kyoto University), and MIT's own Prof. Jacques Moreau.
The symposium will feature: - 12 plenary sessions examining cross-traditional hermeneutic methodologies - 48 parallel paper sessions across four thematic tracks - A special panel on digital humanities approaches to theological texts - Evening lectures open to the public - A pre-conference workshop for doctoral candidates
Early registration is available until 30 April 2026. Graduate students and researchers from developing countries are eligible for subsidised registration fees.
